This annual event assembles the finest display of representational oil paintings in the country and selects paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter. The national awards includes $25,000 for Best In Show! This work will be available on FranklinWestwood.com at the conclusion of this exhibit if not sold during this event.
Pastel Journal Magazine has awarded 4th Place to Karen Israel's Messenger Service in their 22nd Annual Pastel 100 Competition Issue. When it came to crafting her composition, this Connecticut artist turned to a non-avian aspect of nature for inspiration. "The grouping of birds reminded me of pedals on a flower," she says. "I was inspired by the similar, subtle variety of each bird and the way their connection created a feeling of one solid unit."
Karen was also recently been accepted as an Associate Member with the Copley Society of Art in Boston, and her selected works will periodically be exhibited here. This gallery hosts between 15 and 20 exhibitions each year, including solo exhibitions, thematic group shows, juried competitions, and fundraising events. The Copley Society of Art is the oldest non-profit art association in the United States, with a history dating back to 1879.
Count It All Joy is currently on exhibit on Granville Island, British Columbia, CANADA as part of the annual ABSTRACTED Exhibition at the Federation Gallery, from FEB 22nd thru MAR 7th. This painting will be available again thru FranklinWestwood.com, if not sold, at the conclusion of the exhibition. Inspired by JOY, each color sings a tune; gratitude, abundance, peacefulness, laughter, love, contentment, excitement, anticipation and awe. Together they take me to a place that expresses joy that can’t be expressed with mere words alone. This is how my heart feels.
